COATING OF PLASTICS

Due to the variety of plastic materials in use, the most difficult job for a paint shop is coating
bare surface plastic parts. In practice, it is highly likely that the bumper fascia or spoiler to be
coated is made of polypropylene or rubber modified polypropylene. ABS plastic is the usual
material of mirror housings or hubcaps, and PC/PBT compounds are used for making trunk
lidsandfenders.
